“Our textile chemicals consist of Fixator, Ion Holder, Leveling Agent, Silicone, Dispergator, Washing Soaps, Peroxide Stabilizers, Wetting, Anti-Breaking and Oil Remover products covering the entire textile field from knitting to weaving, from yarn to dyeing. ATMP, which is a raw material group, produces boilers, water, detergents, etc., as well as textile chemicals. It can be used as a raw material for many chemicals. Our specific target in the textile sector is to produce raw materials in Turkey. In the near future, we are making new investments in paper and textile chemicals and working to increase our current capacity,” said Boz Kimya Deputy General Manager Mr. Yiğit Bozdoğan. We made an interview with Mr. Bozdağan on behalf of our Tekstil News Magazine. Now let’s get to know Boz Kimya’s activities and products more closely…

Tekstil News: Could we get to know you and your company better?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: I am the deputy general manager of the company. As Bozkimya Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi, we were opened in Gaziantep in 2008 and moved to our facility in Lüleburgaz/Kırklareli in 2010 to produce Plastic products (Industrial Stretch Film, Industrial Shrink, HDPE Rustle Roll, Pallet cover and Industrial Bag used for automatic packaging in textile spinning mills).
until 2008-2019, we increased our knowledge and skills in technical, managerial, customer, material, supply chain and supplier issues and improved our infrastructure systems.
As of 2019, Boz Kimya has signed a first in Turkey and decided to invest seriously in R&D in the production of Wastewater Treatment chemicals, Paper chemicals-Glues and Industrial Raw Materials in the fields of products that have not been manufactured in Turkey before. As a result of the contribution of our Turkish and foreign employees working in our R&D unit, significant know-how has been gained Decently.
In 2022, our company has established its new facility with a closed area of 4500 m2 in Evrensekiz OSB Lüleburgaz / Kırklareli. With this newly built facility, it has expanded its machine park and switched to a full automation system and added innovations to its product range.
In the second quarter of 2022, aiming to address the textile group as well, it has started the production of phosphonates such as ATMP, which is included in the raw materials group, and the production of other textile products.

Tekstil News: What do you think about institutionalization as a company that can be considered new?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: Business ethics are very important to us and our dream is to continue to conduct our current business in the smoothest, most ethical way. We are a family company, but we also have well-equipped colleagues in the field, and for this reason, the institutionalization in our head seems a little far from the known patterns. I think it’s wrong for our industry to look at institutionalization sharply as black and white. For this reason, we are in favor of an amateur-spirited institutionalization. Thus, we have many colleagues with whom we can exchange ideas at any time. We see this as a wealth and a chance.
Tekstil News: Could you briefly tell us about the areas of use of your products?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: We produce chemicals which are used to ensure the paper quality, strength and better printing of the paper by the companies that produce paper from paper recycling. AND is internal gluing, Surface Sizing Agent is surface gluing. We produce Anionic trash cathers (ATC), which are used to prevent anionic pollution in the groundwater known as white water, powdered DEXTRIN, which is the raw material of paper glues, and in addition, we have made new investments and started the production of wet strength chemicals for hygienic papers known as tissue paper (towel paper, toilet paper, etc.) as of 2023.
Our textile chemicals consist of Fixator, sequestering agents, levelling agent,Washing agents,Peroxide Stabilizers,Dispersing agent, Silicone, Wetting Agent, Anti-crease agents and Oil Remover products covering the entire textile field from knitting to weaving, yarn to dyeing. ATMP, which is a raw material group , can be used as the raw material of many chemicals such as textile chemicals, boiler, water, detergent, etc.
Tekstil News: What are the different characteristics of your products compared to their counterparts?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: We are the first manufacturer of some products in Turkey, especially in wastewater treatment and paper chemicals.

Tekstil News: What are the issues that you pay attention to and care about at the facility?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: We are especially sensitive to the environment. We are constantly working to improve the performance of our company in these standards, which we act within the framework of sustainability. I can say that we are an institution that takes it as a duty to increase the level of economic growth and prosperity by protecting the quality of life of all the people around us, and cares about sustainable development. In this context, there is no waste water that will harm the environment from the production line. In addition, we are aiming to produce our own electricity ourselves in the near future, and we have projects in this sense.
Another issue that we attach great importance to is job security. We think that we have to raise Turkey’s rating on occupational safety and occupational health, and simultaneously teach and implement environmental awareness, occupational health and occupational safety related to chemical technology specifically in our enterprise.

Tekstil News: Do you have investments for R&D? What kind of path do you follow for marketing?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: As Boz Kimya, during the first 3 years before starting production, it was only interested in R&D and created a Decently good infrastructure together with our foreign and Turkish chemists. Our company is carrying out Decently extensive R&D studies and receives support from the state in line with these studies. Two projects are accepted to KOSGEB per year. We can say that almost 10% of our turnover goes to R&D. Dec. Because we started by doing analysis first, and that’s why R&D is our lifeblood. Dec. There are 6 engineers working in our laboratory. We only turned to chemicals produced abroad. We have foreign consultants, we also get support from them. At the same time, we have laboratory collaborations with Tubitak, Istanbul Technical University, Karadeniz Technical University, Namik Kemal University and Kırklareli University.
In the marketing part, we are trying to appeal to a wide market as much as possible and in this sense we have agency agreements that we have made with various countries, especially for export purposes.

Tekstil News: Do you participate in fairs? Are you do exporting? What kind of method do you follow to increase your exports? Are you able to follow the fairs related to your sector?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: We are interested in all fairs belonging to our sector. We are trying to ensure participation in all fairs, both domestic and international. We have gained experience that the fairs have been very productive, especially for export. As a result of the progress of the connections we have established at the fairs, we have made our dealership agreements with 4 countries for now. Thus, we have started exporting.

Tekstil News: Do you have any information about our government’s support for export and fair incentives?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: Yes, we have information and we benefit from the incentives of our state in all the fairs we participate in and the exports we have made.

Tekstil News: Which countries are your target markets?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: In particular, we are targeting Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, Belarus, and European countries such as Spain and France in the raw materials group.

Tekstil News: Considering the textile sector, what would you like to say about your future planning and investment activities?
Yiğit Bozdoğan: Our specific goal in the textile sector is to produce raw materials in Turkey. In the near future, we are making new investments in paper and textile chemicals and working to increase our existing capacity.
