Trützschler Group; We showcased our latest recycling innovations,
including our collaboration with Turkish company Balkan at the ITMA 2023

We had the opportunity to interview Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath at the ITMA 2023 Milan exhibition on behalf of our Tekstil News Magazine, who said, “The Turkish market is one of our most important markets and our export volume is high. At ITMA, customers showed great interest in our newly
launched machines that increase quality, efficiency and productivity.” Now, let’s get to know the Trützschler Group company and the machines they exhibited at the ITMA 2023 Milan exhibition…

Tekstil News: Could you tell us about the Trützschler Group and its daughter companies?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: The Trützschler Group SE is a German textile machinery manufacturer headquartered in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The family-owned company – with a history of more than 130 years – is divided into four business units: Spinning, Nonwovens, Man-Made Fibers and Card Clothing. Trützschler machines, installations and accessories are produced and developed at ten locations worldwide. These include four factories in Germany (Mönchengladbach, Dülmen, Egelsbach, Neubulach) as well as locations in China (Shanghai and Jiaxing), India (Ahmedabad), USA (Charlotte), Brazil (Curitiba) and Switzerland (Winterthur). Service companies in Türkiye, Mexico, Uzbekistan and Vietnam as well as service centers in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia provide customer proximity in key regions for the textile processing industry.

Tekstil News: Could you tell us about the usage areas of the machines you have produced?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: Trützschler Spinning is the technology market leader in spinning preparation in the cotton and man-made fiber sector. In this context, we are also leading the way in textile waste recycling:
Through our technologies, customers are empowered to attain the utmost quality while processing secondary fibers from challenging textile waste. Trützschler Card Clothing manufactures high-performance clothings for cards and roller cards, while Trützschler Nonwovens focuses on complete production lines and machines for hydroentangled (spunlaced), through-air and chemically bonded nonwovens.
The product range includes solutions for the entire nonwovens process chain from fiber preparation, web formation, web bonding and finishing to drying and winding. Trützschler Man-Made Fibers is a manufacturer of machinery and systems for the production of industrial and carpet yarns.

Tekstil News: How do you evaluate the Turkish market? And can you give us information about your investments in Türkiye?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: The Turkish market is one of our most important markets and our export volume is high. At ITMA, customers were very interested in our newly launched machines that improve quality, efficiency and productivity.

Tekstil News: Could you give some information about the sales and service cooperation with the Turkish company Balkan Textile Machinery?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: The cooperation with Balkan Textile Machinery completes our product portfolio for recycling by cutting and tearing machines, making us the first full-liner in spinning preparation for recycling. We offer a complete range of technologically leading machinery specifically designed for rotor and ring yarns made from recycled materials including Trützschler’s worldwide service and technological know-how.

Tekstil News: Which of your machines did you exhibit at ITMA’23 Milan exhibition?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: One Trützschler Spinning highlight was the next generation card TC 30i, which achieves the best quality from any raw material thanks to an enlarged cylinder diameter and a higher number of active flats. We also presented our 12-head high-performance comber TCO 21XL. It maximizes productivity by 50 % without sacrificing quality, and saves 25 % space. Further, we introduced our new integrated draw frame IDF 3, our latest recycling innovations, including our cooperation with the Turkish company Balkan, as well as the world of “My Trützschler” – our digital, training and service hub. Trützschler Card Clothing (TCC) presented its wide range of technologies from its clothing portfolio, which covers the complete spectrum of applications in the spinning and nonwoven markets. A special highlight at Trützschler Nonwovens was the presentation of its tailor-made needle-punching solutions, together with the Italian company Texnology S.l.r., while Trützschler Man-Made Fibers demonstrated the power of OPTIMA, the flexible platform for all types of Bulk Continuous Filament carpet and industrial yarn.

Tekstil News: Did ITMA’23 Milan exhibition meet your expectations? Did your expected visitor profile visit your stand? We heard that visitors from many countries could not come because of the visa problem. We hope that we will not have a visa problem at the 2027 ITMA Hannover exhibition. Would you like to comment on this?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: The ITMA 2023 definitely exceeded our expectations. We had a very large number of visitors from all over the world to our booth.

Tekstil News: Will you attend the ITM 2024 Istanbul exhibition? Which of your machines are you planning to exhibit?
Ms. Dr. Bettina Temath
: Yes, we will attend the ITM 2024 in Istanbul. Visitors can expect insights into the latest machines and technologies that perfectly meet the challenges in fiber, filament and nonwovens processing: Higher efficiency, better raw material utilization and more intelligent handling with self-adjusting solutions.
