“Since our 20 years of experience and sectoral knowledge are very good, I can say that we have come a long way in this process that many companies cannot imagine. We have signed a distributorship agreement for Uno Tekstil Makinaları ve Yedek Parça with BIOTTI CARD CLOTHING, which we can call the giant of Italy in this sector, which produces with its 146 years of deep experience and superior quality”, said Uno Tekstil Founding and General Manager Mr. Aykut BİLİR, who we interviewed on behalf of our Tekstil News Magazine. Now let’s get to know Aykut Bilir and Uno Tekstil more closely…
Tekstil News: Can we get to know Aykut Bilir and UNO Tekstil more closely?
Aykut Bilir: I was born in Istanbul in 1981. I am originally from Gelibol, Çanakkale. I have been in the Textile Wires sector for about 20 years and I spent 15 of them as a sales manager in a private company. I have been doing my own business for the last three years, I am a Business Faculty graduate, I am married and I am the father of two daughters.
Uno Tekstil is a newly established company; we have been operating at the address where our office and warehouse are located in Beylikdüzü/İstanbul for three years. Since our 20 years of business experience and sectoral knowledge are very good, I can say that we have come a long way in this process that many companies cannot imagine. We have signed a distributorship agreement for Uno Textile Machinery and Spare Parts with BIOTTI CARD CLOTHING, which we can call the giant of Italy in this sector, and which produces with its 146 years of deep experience and superior quality. As of the beginning of 2024, we have also obtained distributorships for Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh and Iran and given dealerships to these countries. Now, Uno Tekstil has a representative in these countries and we immediately meet the requests and needs of our customers in those countries. In extraordinary cases, we immediately go to the relevant country, see the problem on site and solve it, and we attach great importance to the satisfaction of our customers. We also provide dealerships on a provincial basis within our country. First of all, we started to provide dealerships starting from the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Our aim is to reach the needs of the customer quickly and easily.

Tekstil News: Do you have a product that Uno Tekstil produces and sells or are you currently only continuing your activities as the representative of the Italian Biotti Company?
Aykut BİLİR: For now, we are only representing the Italian giant Biotti Card Clothing, but as time goes on, making production decisions in the coming years is also among our goals. Global developments are among the factors that will determine the progress of this process.

Tekstil News: Do you plan to participate in sectoral fairs? What kind of marketing technique do you apply to introduce your company and products to the textile sector?
Aykut BİLİR: Of course, we plan to participate in the ITM 2026 fair to be held next year. Fairs are the best platforms where companies can closely introduce their products. Of course, we will evaluate this. We also know that today’s relevant buyers, purchasing and technical personnel of companies also use the internet and social media intensively. Social media is a really easy channel in terms of reaching customers, so we are doing serious work to reach our customers through this channel. We have a team that supports us in this regard. Together with them, we are evaluating how we can reach the world more easily and effectively. Because our social media account has followers from all over the world. Most of the time, they reach us via messages and ask for information or write messages to our posts and congratulate us, which creates a very serious motivation for us. We use our social media channel intensively for this reason. Since we have operations in every region of our country, our name is now known everywhere. Companies recommend us to each other for solutions when needed. In other words, people and companies we do not know easily reach us; We also closely deal with every customer who contacts us and act solution-oriented. As you know, the most effective marketing method is “Reference”.

Tekstil News: Do you export? Do you have target markets and countries for export? And what kind of activities do you carry out to increase exports?
Aykut BİLİR: Yes, we do export, our primary goal is to increase our exports to the countries we are distributors of and we aim to expand our export volume, especially in the North Caucasus and especially in the Middle East, especially Iran. We plan to do this by granting dealerships.
Tekstil News: When you make an assessment considering the textile sector in Turkey and the world, how do you evaluate the future of the textile sector?

Aykut BİLİR: The textile sector is a serious source of income for developing countries, of course our country is among these countries. The pandemic process has seriously affected the textile sector, like every sector, and has caused turmoil in all world economies. However, the textile sector, like the food sector, is a sector that contains the most basic needs of people and therefore its continuity is a sector that is mandatory. No matter how much the changing economic processes affect it, it will always exist in our country and in the world. The fact that the Far East is not preferred by Europeans, especially in terms of its location and labor quality, is an opportunity that should not be missed for our country. I believe that we will make a long way with the Turkish economy, which will hopefully improve in the near future, and with the production period to be planned, the raw material production to be increased and the development of the product range, which is especially important for the sector.
